I learned about receptive skills : reading and listening.
If the content is interesting, understanding will be easier. A lot of reading's / listening's skills help to this understanding. There are predictive skill, skimming, scanning, deduction from context, and detailed information.
To keep students interested about the course and to give them self-confidence about their skill, material have to be chosen carefully.
