This unit talks about reception skills, reading and listening. Students read and listen for different reasons, for example for a purpose to achieve a goal, or for entertainment to enjoy the content. To approach teaching difficult language, teachers can pre-teach them vocabulary so that students will be able to overcome obstacles. Teachers can also carefully select texts depending on the level of the students. Authentic texts aren't designed for language learning whereas non-authentic texts are. Striking a balance between these two sources is key.
