It was interesting to see the different methods of teaching languages. Having studied two foreign languages, I have been subject to the pitfalls of standard teaching techniques used in public schools. Also, having lived in the countries that spoke the languages I learned, help me to understand the need for use of the new language in natural settings. Exposure and repetition are indispensable to learning. I like the ESA concept of teaching. It seems more natural and conducive to learning. Correcting is also important. Nothing can destroy a student's self-esteem more quickly than an insensitive correction.
