The past perfect continuous is probably the easiest to understand just because it has both "had" and "been" within a single sentence. So although this one is less commonly used, it might be one of the easiest to teach because it has a very clear tell-tell sign. The other forms are a little more difficult, especially when it comes to irregular verbs. As a native English speaker, irregular verbs come naturally. However, since there are no specific rules to what constitutes an irregular verb or the form it will take once it's changed, it's very difficult. This will probably be the most difficult thing to teach to a class.
