Adjectives describe the nouns and are usually placed before them. They can be comparative or superlative.
Articles can be indefinite (only used with single nouns) or definite (singular and plural).
Verbs describe an action or a state. They can be transitive or intransitive and there are three auxiliary verbs (to be, to do, to have) used to form a tense or an expression by combining with other verbs.
Adverbs add information to the action. The main types are adverbs of manner, place, time, frequency.
The gerund is the "ing" form of a verb used as a noun. As in: "Skiing is fun".
Pronouns are used in place of more precise nouns. They can be: personal, possessive, reflexive, relative.
