Unit 1 helped me to see clearly the role of a teacher. What are the desired qualities and that a teacher should be thoroughly prepared to be able to help the students. I really enjoyed how it summarized a good teacher, "He/She really cares about his/her teaching, but cares even more about the learning of the students."
It also highlighted the shared responsibility of the learners, what makes a good learner. The difference between the age of the learners and the level they're in also plays an important role in how the teacher should prepare to help the students.
