This unit clearly spelt out various methodologies used in teaching EFL as well as their pluses and minuses. The unit also identified the method most appropriate for use in this course, having incorporated the relevant conditions effective for the teaching of EFL. This concept is Engage, Study and Activate (ESA). ESA gives the teacher lots of flexibility since the teacher could use discretion in deciding the appropriate ESA approach, namely; Straight arrow, Boomerang or Patchwork. Perhaps, the most impressive and interesting lessons learnt from this unit were the various "Engage", "Study", and "Activate" lessons/activities tailored towards various active learning group.
