This unit presents the four present tenses: the present simple, present continuous (progressive), present perfect, and present perfect continuous. Present simple tense is just the subject and the base form (+s/es) and is definitely the most basic tense. The present continuous tense is the subject, the to be verb, and the verb+ing. The present perfect tense is the subject, the have verb, and the past participle. The present perfect continuous is a combination of the present continuous and the present perfect, which means that it is the subject, the have verb, been, and the verb+ing. I have definitely studied these tenses before but did not remember the names of each type of tense, so it was really good to review these.
