It can be difficult to explain the reasons behind certain conjugations outside of simply stating that that is the rule. In English, it is particularly difficult to explain past tense because of the large amount of irregular verbs that only require drilling and memory rather than understanding the workings behind the grammar point. That will be an important thing to consider as I approach this topic in my classroom. The study phase will be very important.
