Teaching receptive skills are very important when learning a new language. The unit 7 covered all the basic information about reading and listening skills, the reasons why do we read/listen, the sub-skills(scanning,skimming, deduction etc.) that we need to effectively get the information we are looking for, problems that occur and what the teacher should do to solve them, and the importance of selecting topics and tasks carefully depending on the students interests and comprehension. I feel like I got some very important skills to actually teach receptive skills and the ESA lesson examples provided were very helpful for that.
