This is a good overview of the functional explanations of why we use certain tenses in certain contexts, depending on if we are predicting something with present evidence of not, etc. I will earmark this as a very important section to review before tackling the future tense with my students as this tends to be one of the most difficult parts of the English language for students. Again, grammar is the skeleton of language, and once the students have that in mind, one of the more clinical parts of language retention, creativity can thrive in choosing specific vocabulary within the right structure.
