Wayne, New Mexico TESOL Online & Teaching English Jobs
This unit focuses on past tenses: past simple, past continuous, past perfect, and past perfect continuous. With past simple, there are regular verb conjugations and irregular verb conjugations. With regular verbs, you only have to add -ed or -d to the end of the verbs. With irregular verbs, there are no rules to help students know how they are formed, so it seems that repetition and memorisation would play a large role here. Past continuous is subject + was/were + verb+ing. Past perfect is subject + had + past participle. Past perfect continuous is a combination of past continuous and past perfect, so subject + had + been + verb+ing. I was familiar with the verb tenses but from this unit, I was able to learn how they are categorised.
