I have learnt the different ways of testing, evaluating students'level.In the Types of Tests covered, i had a deeper understanding about Placement tests and how these test plays an important part in the teachers' role in placing the students according to their language ability and particular level of class. Where as in Diagnostic, although it is similar to placement test, it is more extensive and teachers gets information about the students strengths and weaknesses, helping the teachers to prepare lessons and materials enabling to work on the areas of difficulty. While in the Progress Test, I have learnt how these test are frequently used to gauge what language they have learnt and forgotten and most importantly, how teachers should include the language items covered within the prescribed period.While Practice test may use some revisions and should follow the format and structure of external exam. Lastly, I have learnt the External proficiency test which are categorized as the General, Tests which comes in different levels from entry,elementary,pre intermediate, upper intermediate and Higher level test of Cambridge assesement. Where as the Business Test which is categorized into three such as TOEIC, Cambridge BEC and Bulat. And lastly the Academic Test like TOEFL and IELTS which is most commonly used by Universities for entry level.
