This lesson explained the different uses of course materials and course books. Authentic materials allow students to engage with real examples, while created materials can be more customized to students levels and needs. Course books are one of the most used course materials, but teachers to approach the use of these books critically. Those students may expect and be comfortable with course books, not everything in the books may be appropriate to the students. Materials from course books can be omitted, replaced, supplemented and adapted if necessary.
