This unit covered from the more pragmatic matters (arrangement of the chairs) to the messier matters (student discipline). There is a lot that goes into the dynamic of the classroom. The teacher has his or her influence through eye contact, gesture and voice (the "how" for what you're communicating as a teacher). The unit covered the different ways in which the group of students can be re-grouped and the advantages/disadvantages of each option. It delved into the basics good and bad teaching such as the appropriate levels of TTT and STT, how to give and not give instructions, and establishing/protecting rapport. It finishes by discussing discipline, the methods for maintaining it and pitfalls that should be avoided in troubling situations. As someone who isn't a professional teacher, I learned a lot in practically every section of this unit.
