In this unit, I have learned that a good teacher is one who cares most about the learning of his/her students. A good teacher has many roles to play in the classroom. These include being a manager, controller, an organizer, an assessor, prompter, participant, tutor, facilitator, model and the observer. These different roles will unfold depending on the activity and its goal.
Age, culture, language level and motivation of the learner are factors to consider when looking at language learners. A good learner is one who is willing to listen to, experiment with, and learn the language. He/she is not afraid to ask questions and accept corrections.
In conclusion, the learner and teacher relationship is very important. If the teacher is motivating, sensitive and caring, the learning environment will be more stimulating producing successful students. It's safe to say, good teachers produce good students!
