This unit discussed forms of evaluation and testing that students may be subject to both inside the classroom and outside the classroom. It explains that the three main ways to evaluate a students are through tutorials, evaluation and testing. Tutorials include reviews of the lesson, evaluations include students evaluating the lesson so that the teacher can adjust future lesson plans, and testing includes placement, progress, diagnostic, and external examinations. As someone who has taken foreign language classes before these concepts were not very novel to me. For example, I have taken placement and progress tests before. However, I learned a lot in the section discussing external examinations English learners may take. If my students will be taking such examinations, I want to be aware of this and help them prepare at least partially through my lesson plans. For instance, if they need to take the TOEIC test.
