While teaching grammar is the backbone to learning a new language, I hesitate to be excited about it based on my own experience learning grammar in a foreign language. I remember learning grammar as an arduous and boring task. However, this lesson taught me ways to make grammar engaging and fun for a classroom. The Engage, Study, Activate model makes teaching grammar lessons make sense. Once a student is engaged in a scenario introducing vocabulary and grammar to assist the student further engage (activate) seems fun and approachable!
