I thought the characteristics of a good teacher and student were straight-forward. However, the roles of a teacher were more interesting to me. It made me think back to my experience teaching and reflect which roles I favor. I have the tendency toward experiential and active learning, so I prefer the roles of Facilitator, Organizer and Prompter, but I recognize different students and classes will require different mixtures of these roles. The discussion of how age affects the characteristics of a student also intrigued me. I did not think that high schoolers may be the least motivated students. I hope they are motivated in Korea, because it is always a joy to teach motivated students. I was familiar with the Common European Framework, but I learned the English names for each level (Breakthrough, Waystage etc.) along with more specifics about the defined levels.
