Following the units on the present tenses and the past tenses, this unit focuses on the role and function of future tenses in English. According to this unit, the future tense is one of the most complex areas of the English language. The complexity of the future tenses can make them difficult to teach and learn so it is helpful to have a whole unit dedicated to them. Unlike the units on the present tenses and the past tenses, which presented four categories of present and past, this unit presents seven future tenses. These tenses are the future simple, the future continuous, the future perfect, the future perfect continuous, be going + infinitive, the future use of the present simple and the future use of the present continuous. The be going + infinitive form and the future use of the present continuous are the most frequently used. Simimlar to the other units on the tenses, I appreciated how this unit explained all of the various usages for each future tense and teaching ideas for these tenses. I think after absorbing the information in this unit, I have a much firmer grasp on these tenses and potential errors or mistakes students might make when learning them and why those errors or mistakes might occur.
