They can be used to express different forms of formality, they don't change according to the subject, and are usually followed by a verb in its base form. The passive vs. active voice in English refers to the emphasis or absence of the subject in a sentence. The dependent clause of sentence is not a complete sentence and must be attached to the independent clause, which contains the main subject and the verb. The relative clause is a dependent clause that modifies a noun. It describes or gives further information about a noun. Phrasal verbs are multi-word verbs and consist of a verb plus one or two particles (a preposition or an adverb).
