In this section we reviewed the two receptive skills, reading and listening. They are equally important. However reading is easier since the reading is on paper and students can easily access it. It is important to engage students and find materials that are interesting for the students as well since it is reading for a purpose and not entertainment. There are many reading skills students have in should learn such as predictive, scanning, and deduction from context. Introducing difficult vocabulary is also important to help students get through a lesson successfully.
