It is easy to see how English learners are easily intimidated or confused by all the english grammar rules when even a native English speaker such as myself is having difficulty keeping up with all the different parts of grammar. Even though it comes naturally to me when I speak or write, it is difficult to pinpoint exactly why I choose the word order, tenses, and word forms that I do. Throughout the unit, I felt more and more strongly that knowing some basic grammar rules is critical to teaching english. It will be important to know why one sentence is correct and the other is not. And the better I can understand the grammar rules, the easier and more simply I can explain the rules to learners of English.
