Teaching productive skills are really a challenge. I agree that writing skills are often not given enough because of time issues. I was amazed by the activities used in the ESA example under creative writing. It is a wakeup call for me since I always give writing activities as homework and now I know why my students don’t improve that much on writing because I don’t give that much effort on it. From now on I will try out some activities that were shown in the book.
With regard to speaking activities, I think I really enjoy interacting with my students that’s why most of the activities shown in the book were already utilized during my classes. Using games in the class is really helpful to build rapport and make a good environment, just as long as we make sure the student learn and the game is related to the language point.
