Lesson 9 covers one of the most important and nerve-wracking aspects of teaching for new teachers, planning lessons. There are many different ideas about lesson planning and various approaches to take. Every teacher must find the method that suits them and their classes best. The writing of lesson plans has a number of important functions, including acting as an aid to planning, acting as a working document and acting as a record. Furthermore, this lessons teaches about the principles of lesson planning, how to organize for lessons, what to include in lesson plans and sample lesson plans. I think I benefited most from the sample lesson plans and the review of the ESA method from a previous unit. It easier to understand the content after seeing clear, thorough examples. I feel more confident in designing my own lessons, including sequences of lessons, after studying this unit.
