Wow, I had no idea there were so many testing agencies that make English language tests! This unit briefly went over different testing techniques and their advantages and disadvantages. Assessing the progress of your students is necessary for you and them. As a learner of a foreign language, testing always told me what I knew and didn't know. It is a valuable tool for the classroom, but like all tools should not be overused.
