This unit went over modals, phrasal verbs, and passive voice. The modals are: can, could, may, might, shall, should, will, would, must, have to, have got to, need to, needn't, and ought to, and they express a plethora of things like obligation, ability, etc. Roleplay is a great activity to get students to practice these formal and informal language functions, as it allows students to take on different roles that require different responses. The passive voice, which is used often, the object of an active verb becomes the subject of the passive verb. Same meaning as active voice, but in the passive voice, the person doing the action is not the important factor.
