I believe the educator should be dynamic and flexible with the material at hand. Not one source of water from the fountain of knowledge is going to be suffice to maintain the quench of learning. For example, using an authentic material like a sports magazine and engaging the class by talking to them about sports. What they like to play? Why they like the sport? Get them creatively using English to work into the study of asking what players can and cannot do in a game. Now, using a created material like a gap-fill activity, found online about sports, the class can work on how to use can and can't more effectively, as well as the pronunciation of the 't'. Finally, use a course-book material to find an activate phase, that'll group them together to role-play imaginative scenarios of the can and can't of sports. That's an example of different materials, from alternate sources, to teach in a straightforward ESA plan.
