This unit was insightful into the importance of seating arrangements, the use of the teacher's voice, eyes, and gesture, and the grouping of students. I have a much better sense of the pros and cons of the various classroom setups and seating arrangements. However, I found the examination of the effect the teacher has on a class through eye contact, voice, and gesture more helpful. The practical tips for establishing rapport and dealing with problematic student behavior were equally important. Of course, I hope my students will be great, but this unit will be a good resource for dealing with difficult students.
