In this unit I learned about the four present tenses; present simple, present continuous, present perfect and present perfect continuous. For each tense we learned about their form in the affirmative, the negative and in the question form. We also learned about when to use them. For some students certain tenses will be difficult to use and structure correctly. The unit gave explanations on how to explain when each tense should be used. This unit gave good activate stage teaching ideas. One idea was to take a piece of paper with a past activity on it. The student then must guess what the activity was using present perfect continuous. The unit also gave examples of typical mistakes to watch out for in students and proper ways to explain the mistake.
