This unit went over modal verbs, phrasal verbs, and the passive voice. The modal verb review was helpful because there was a chart which presents all the modal verbs, their uses, and their forms in present/future and past. The biggest takeaway is that the modal verbs in English provide the following functions: obligation, possibility/probability, permission/prohibition, ability, and advice. In regards to the passive voice, the form was reviewed, as well as the reasoning behind why you would use it. Typically, the passive voice is used when the actor/performer of an action is not known or important. Relative clauses were also reviewed, specifically the difference between defining and non-defining relative clauses. And lastly, phrasal verbs and the three types (intransitive, transitive separable, and transitive inseparable) were explained with examples.
