Unit 2 was a brief review of English grammar that the teacher must be able to clear communicate and teach to his/her students. This unit included the different parts of speech, its uses and rules for use. The unit included a discussion of nouns (types of nouns including proper, plural, countable and uncountable nouns), verbs (transitive and intransitive verbs, infinitives and verb forms as well as irregular verb forms), articles (definite and indefinite), adjectives including comparative and superlatives. Furthermore, this unit discussed the 5 main types of adverbs, gerunds, conjunctions and prepositions. I have learned that there are many exceptions to the basic rules of English grammar that the student must simply memorize such as the irregular verb forms or the way one must form plural nouns such of one tooth and many teeth. Finally, I have learned that teaching grammar and its rules can be a challenge for the teacher.
