This unit taught me how to structure various parts of a lesson for maximum benefit to the student. I should first engage the the students and draw them into the lesson with an item or a subject of interest, get them talking in English to the maximum degree possible, and not attempt to teach at this point. Having done this, my next step should be to activate their relation to the subject, perhaps by having them make relevant choices or descriptions. The last phase of the lesson will be the study phase where we drill and reinforce what has been learned. I learned several methods of activating such as role-playing and several methods of drilling such as controlled practice. This lesson has been extremely valuable in describing how best to construct my plan and to critique students and give and get feedback.
