Unit #8 was really jam-packed, but still, it made a noble effort to review the basics of the most common future tenses: the future simple, the future continuous, the future perfect, the future perfect continuous, 'be going' + infinitive, the present simple, and the present continuous. Overall, the unit was a simple review of the core aspects of each of the future tenses, so, naturally, I didn't learn anything new. Although, the unit did shed light on an area that I'd taken for granted in the past: the similarities between the present continuous and the 'be going' + infinitive. When reading the examples in the chapter, it was difficult for me to ascertain the difference between the two. To my amazement, I've used the two tenses throughout my life without being consciously aware of their subtle differences. So, even though the unit didn't teach me anything new, it did remind me that there are simple nuances prevalent in the English language that I've overlooked. As result, I'll be more sensitive to a students confusion between the two and will pay greater attention to this area when instructing students in the future. Also, again I found the sample ideas sections to be a great resource, which I will likely reference for inspiration when designing my own for future students.
