Unit 10 consisted to two video lessons. Each lesson in it's delivery, atmosphere, effectiveness, and result. In the first lesson the teacher arrived after most of the students had arrived, and failed to attempt to learn their names in order to engage them. He also spoke to fast, causing the students to not understand him. He also did not really utilize an Engage phase in order to help review previous material. At one point, several students arrived late, and upon their sitting down the teacher began to berate them. During a mill drill, the teachers kept trying to correct their pronunciation as a while, but really needed to attend to their pronunciation on a one to one basis. Also, their pronunciation was perfectly fine. He was just trying to enforce his own regional accent on them. Lastly, when time was up, the teacher just left the room with no prior indication that the class was over.
In the second video, the lesson was delivered in a much more effective way. The teacher was there before the students arrival, he learned all of their names to engage them, he began with an engage phase to recap on what had been previously discussed, he spoke more slowly and clearly, attempted to elicit responses instead of repeating a question multiple times, he didn't rush the students during their study phase, his study phase was explained several times using an example from the worksheet itself, the activity was also explained well, and when the class was finished he actually announced it this time.
