What I have learned from this particular lesson is a whole new language basically. Phonetics and proper pronunciation of a word is just as important as the placement of the word in the sentence. If you put emphasis on the wrong syllable then the word and the sentence meaning is changed entirely, and to sound like a native then you must be able to correctly move your mouth and vocal chords to get the right sound to come out. I learned the important terms to know when talking about emphasis on syllables and have now found some different ways to get this across to the class.
