Teaching without methods listed in this unit is irrelevant. Methods, theories and techniques this unit explains if used correctly - can successfully teach individuals and/or groups the English Language. In this unit I was first presented with the ESA methodology. The three stages of ESA; Engage, Study and Activate are very accurate and functional. Keeping the student in a balanced learning zone where he/she does not get bored or over-worked. There are many techniques and activities that these three stages withhold. Including games, worksheets, tests, surveys, feedback and lots of communication between the student and the teacher. Different types of ESA help you out through a very effective class work: the boomerang, straight arrow and the patchwork. These three make different combinations of Engage Activate and Study. Therefore the teacher should play the most crucial role in the class, considering the right feedback and support towards the students. The teacher should always engage all of the class and encourage them to learn more and not be disappointed. The teacher should distinguish the errors from mistakes and try to implement them on the class-room so the classroom is a non toxic environment of learning and prevailing.
