Synopsis of the two video review I've seen for unit 10.
Simon, the English teacher on these two videos. Shows two examples different from each other; of how a teacher behaves in a classroom.
The first one obviously goes against the accurate method of how a class should be conducted. I observed how the teacher recklessly behaved against the general code of the teacher;Coming later in the classroom, not smiling, being rushed with students, using his phone, drinking water in front of the students etc. Following on the second video, he did not execute the latter actions.
Meanwhile in the second lesson; the teacher is much more careful on his behavior transmission.Which generated a good image of a good teacher example. The teacher is able to relax the students by engaging with them and ask various questions/ not always necessarily related to the lesson. He tries to adapt to the students' small conversations and jokes. However he always keeps the right/exact student-teacher approach.
I learned how the structure of the lesson is very important. As I saw this teacher's example-whether the lesson structure is used correctly or not - more importantly is the teacher-student connection and the lesson flow.
Also the teacher's accuracy in the class.
I found it difficult at some parts to answer the questions of this Unit's test. Because it is hard to follow some tiny gestures and moment throughout the lesson( in this case the two videos )
Therefore when it came to compare the two videos it was rather exciting than difficult to do so. The differences of the two- were obvious and huge.
I tried to take the second lesson as a future example.
I could relate more to the second video.
Reasons why I could've related more with the second video is that: even as a student I felt the lesson to be more more relaxing than the first one.
I strongly believe/know that if the teacher manages to make his students comfortable and relaxed, the classroom will slightly be more productive and successful.
