Unit 10 was probably my favorite unit up to this point. Watching the videos of an actual language classroom and having the analyze it was extremely challenging, and rewarding. I was at first having a very hard time picking out the differences between the first and second lesson, however after looking back I noticed how much of a greater experience the students had in the second lesson. It provided a much more “close knit” feel with the teacher introducing his name on the board and the student’s names on their desks. He would have them involved in almost every part of the lesson even when he was teaching new content, their ideas were being used. This teacher was very flexible, slowing down if the students had questions, and ensuring all the students in the classroom had a grasp of the content being taught.
