This unit begins by defining the qualities necessary to be a successful teacher and those required to be a good learner. It defines the different roles a good teacher must assume. It then divides the types of learners into two main categories (adult and young learners) with sub-categories of young learners according to their ages. It then differentiates different levels of learners and explains the differences in the approach to teaching these different groups and their likely differing responses to the teaching process. I learnt that lessons must be specifically tailored for the type of student to be most effective.
