Crooked River Ranch, Oregon TESOL Online & Teaching English Jobs
It was a nice unit compared to all of the reading and whatnot, but still some problems arise. Some of the answers to the questions were rather odd.
Take number 6 for example: In the first lesson, how does the teacher react when students can’t answer questions?
He slowly explains what he means.
He demonstrates what he means.
He asks more questions, causing further confusion.
He draws a picture to help them.
He keeps asking the same question until they get it.
He did keep asking asking the same question, but he also asked more questions.
Number 2:
The students seems both tired and uninterested AND intimidated in the video. So this question answer is quite hard to pinpoint!
Number 9: In the second lesson during the Engage phase the teacher did not correct the students’ mistakes in grammar. This is because…
He didnt notice any, but you also arent supposed to make corrections in the Engage phase.
Number 19 I thought was unfair. Theres so much to remember with all of those, it was hard to pinpoint what structure he was actually doing. Some guidelines for this one would be helpful.
During the board work study phase of the second lesson the teacher kept leaving gaps for the students to fill in both visually and verbally. These were examples of…
drilling for pronunciation.
monitoring the students.
elicitation of the target language.
backwash teaching.
laziness of the teacher.
I dont think we even learned anything about that!! :( I was so confused on that question.
