In this unit, I learned about classroom management. The unit covered eye contact, gesture, voice, classroom arrangement, and grouping. It also described ways to reduce the amount of time spent with your back to the students when writing on the board. There was also a section on how to give individual attention to a student. The giving instructions portion of the unit described techniques that can aid in making instructions effective. This unit also included practical ways to help establish rapport and class spirit. The maintaining discipline section outlined reasons for problem behavior, preventing problem behavior, and responding to problem behavior.
