In this unit we learned how to make a lesson plan, and about what is generally required of a lesson plan. More specifically, we went into detail about the ESA (Engage, Study, Activate) method, components of each stage, activities that can be used for each stage, the main goal of each stage, and three different ways to incorporate ESA into your lessons. Lastly, we were introduced to how to provide feedback to students, while maintaining a positive atmosphere and allowing students to stay encouraged. This is important to learn as it provides the basis for how we as teachers should prepare and plan for our lessons and keep a positive learning atmosphere. As an instructor, it is important to continuously encourage students to learn and experiment with language for them to improve upon it and build their confidence.
