I would agree that the grammar lesson on future tenses is one of the most difficult topics in teaching the English language. Unlike its grammar counterparts, the present and past tenses, the future tense involves complexity in its form, function and use in sentences as it overlaps with other tenses. The differences will definitely confuse the learner especially if not careful with the construction of sentences. It was helpful that there were certain points that were emphasized in this unit. For example, the confusion between the uses of will and shall as well as the future simple form and “be going to”. I think that using diagrams or time maps will help students understand this grammar topic better because it would show and explain to students how the actions overlaps and when it will happen in the future.
