This unit was great to understand how to teach new vocabulary, grammatical structures and functions and to be e.g. cognizant that how difficult or easy it is to learn a new vocabulary depends on the similarity of the word to their native language or words they have learned in English before. it was extremely helpful to be reminded how to use the ESA structure, and its “variations”, to teach e.g. a new grammar structure. How to engage them with for example prompting and answer, then in the study phase use sentence building tasks and in the activate phase let the students have a discussion or role-play.
