Unit 1 detailed the qualities, roles and responsibilities of the teacher and learners. I learned that a good teacher should care, motivate, be patient and ensure that the learner learns the subject matter. The learner on the other hand should have a desire to learn, listen to the language, ask questions and accept error correction. There are also clear differences between the teacher and learner as well as different levels of abilities. Therefore a good teacher must ensure that they encourage and foster the qualities of a good learner.
