Past continuous
- Usage :ACTION WAS IN PROGRESS in the past at a particular time
o Actions interrupted in the past
o Gradual development ,
o Description in narration , He was playing during weekend
o Action begins before the time of speaking , she was working when dad came back
- Form : Aux verb + verb+ing
Past perfect
- Form: , had +PP
- Usage : action occurred before other actions in the past . She had finished the homework when they decided to go out
Past perfect continuous :
- Form : had+been+verb +ing / neg had not
- Usage : action occurred before other action in the past but took long time in the past
