This was the hardest unit for me so far. At the same time it was very interesting. I have learned a lot! I was surprised to realize that pronunciation is the most neglected aspect of English teaching.
We have studied the following aspects of pronuntiation and phonologu: intonation(rise-fall, fall-rise and flat), stress, sound joining (linking, dropping, changing and lettering. The use of the Phonemic Alphabet and its symbols for vowels and consonants,unvoiced phonems (no vibration) and voiced phonems (vibration. The manners of articulation: plosives affricates, fricatives, nasal, lateral and approximants. Places of articulation: bilabial, labio-dental, alveolar, palatal-alveolar, palatal, velar and glottal.
I really enjoyed watching the phonology class!
