In this unit we are introduced to two of the four basic skills in learning any language. The two skills are categorized as receptive skills and are known as "reading" and "listening" This unit taught how important it is for students to hone these skill by allowing them to discover new words and meanings on their own while still providing guidance when required. For example before a text is given out a teach could pre-teach the most difficult words but still allow the students to discover the rest when they read the text.
