This unit’s focus was the teaching of new vocabulary, grammatical structures, and language functions. I learned what criteria to go by when selecting what vocabulary to teach, what students need to know about new vocabulary or grammar they are learning, and different techniques for use in teaching new vocabulary and grammatical language structures. The three different outlines of typical ESA lessons were useful in helping me to understand the ESA method of teaching new language.
